Johnstown Chiefs News Release
The Johnstown Chiefs (19-21-12; 50 PTS; 7th North div.) were only able to get one out of a possible eight points last week as they went 0-3-1. They fell at Reading on Tuesday, lost a pair of games at Toledo on Friday and Saturday and lost in a shootout Sunday at home against Trenton. This week the Chiefs will play four games beginning Tuesday night at Reading. Friday they travel to Wheeling and Saturday afternoon Atlantic City. They close out the busy weekend at home Sunday afternoon against the Reading Royals. The Chiefs remain in seventh place in the North division trailing sixth place Peoria by seven points. They are currently 15 points out of a playoff spot.

Game #49 (2/22/05) READING 3 - Johnstown 1 Chiefs 0 for 5 on Power Play
The Chiefs four game winning streak was snapped Tuesday night at Reading. Scott Dobben scored the Chiefs lone goal. Royals forward Cail McLean had a goal and two assists in the contest. Chiefs net minder David Cann made 24 saves, while Royals goaltender Cody Rudkowsky made 29 saves.
Game #50 (2/25/05) TOLEDO 4 - Johnstown 1 Dobben Goal
Scott Dobben scored the Johnstown Chiefs' lone goal as they fell on the road Friday night to the Toledo Storm 4-1. David Cann made 33 saves for the Chiefs in the game. Rick Judson scored twice for the Storm
Game #51 (2/26/05) TOLEDO 4 - Johnstown 3 Courchesne Goal, Assist
Saturday night the Chiefs fell to the Toledo Storm 3-2 at the Toledo Sports Arena. Johnstown was leading 3-2 with 2:24 to play before Toledo scored a pair of goals just 28 seconds a part to take the lead for good. Joe Tallari, Dmitri Tarabrin and P.L. Courchesne scored the Johnstown goals. Chiefs net minder David Cann made 36 saves in the contest.
Game #52 (2/27/05) Trenton 3 - JOHNSTOWN 2 (SO) Cann 33 Saves
For the second straight game, the Johnstown Chiefs gave up a one goal lead in the third period, as the visiting Trenton Titans defeated the Chiefs 3-2 in a shootout Sunday afternoon at the War memorial. Johnstown was up 2-1 with first period goals by Joe Tallari and Scott Dobben. Trenton had a first period goal by Nick Deschenes. Titans center Scott Bertoli tied the game up 2-2 with just 50 seconds left in regulation time. The Titans would move on to win the shoot out 1-0 with another Bertoli goal. Chiefs net minder David Cann made 33 saves in the contest. Titans goaltender Andrew Allen made 35 saves.

Tuesday night the Chiefs head to Reading to take on the third place Royals (30-16-5, 65 PTS; T-3rd North div.) for the fifth time this season. The Chiefs are 2-1-1 against Reading this season and 16-9-2 all-time. The Royals are 6-2-2 in their last ten games.

Friday night, the Chiefs meet the Wheeling Nailers (31-17-4, 66 PTS; T-1st North div.) for the fifth time this season. The Chiefs are 1-3-0 against the Nailers this season and 50-48-12 all-time. Johnstown is 0-2-0 at Westbanco Arena this season. The Nailers are 18-5-2 at home this season.

The Chiefs will travel from Wheeling (404 miles) Friday night to play a Saturday afternoon game at Atlantic City (29-17-7; 65 PTS; T-3rd North div.). The Chiefs are 2-2-1 against the Boardwalk Bullies this season and 10-10-3 all-time. The Boardwalk Bullies have won two straight games and are 6-3-1 in their last ten games

For the second time this week the Chiefs will take on the Reading Royals, only this game will be at the War Memorial Arena. This will be Reading's final regular season game in Johnstown.
