Ice Pilots Have Best Record In The League At 37-13-4 For 78 Points

Ice Pilots go 3-1-0 this week and continue with the best record in the ECHL at 37-13-4 for 78 points. The Ice Pilots began the week on Tuesday night with a 4-3 shootout win vs. Florida. Alex Materuhkin scored two goals in the game for the Ice Pilots. Cam Keith scored the other goal. Tyler Beechey scored the only goal in the shootout for the win. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie for the Ice Pilots stopping 37 out 40 shots and stopped all five shooters in the shootout.

The Ice Pilots lost at home on Friday night 3-2 vs. Columbia. Jason Beckett and Cory Stillman scored goals for the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots had a 2-0 lead but Columbia scored three goals with Eric Boulton scoring the game winning at the one minute mark of the third period. Frederic Clouti! er was the losing goalie as his 11 game personal winning streak came to an end.

The Ice Pilots won 4-3 vs. Mississippi on Saturday in front of 6,156 fans on Subway Alumni Night. Chris St. Jacques scored two goals for the Ice Pilots. Jason Beckett and Scott May also scored goals. Todd Ford was the winning goalie. Before the Ice Pilots game Team Calder defeated Team Quenneville 10-5 in the Subway Alumni Game. During the first intermission Shane Calder and Chad Quenneville were inducted as charter members to the Ice Pilots Hall of Fame sponsored by Subway.

The Ice Pilots won 5-3 vs. Columbia in front of 3,192 fans. Tyler Beechey scored a hat trick for the Ice Pilots. Cam Keith and Scott May also scored goals. Todd Ford was the winning goalie for the Ice Pilots.

The Ice Pilots will play home Friday vs. Texas at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play home to the Texas Wildcatters this Friday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have a record of 5-1 vs. Texas this season including! a record of 3-0 at home and 2-1 on the road. It is Military Appreciat ion Night as all military will be able to get discount on tickets. All military both active and retired will be able to get $5 off a $15 ticket, $4 off a $13 ticket and $3 off a $10 ticket by showing their military ID at the Civic Center box office.

The Ice Pilots will play home to Mississippi this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and than play at Mississippi on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. Sunday's game at Mississippi was originally scheduled to start at 5:05 p.m. but has been changed to a 4:05 p.m. face off. The Ice Pilots have a record of 5-1 vs. Mississippi this season including a record of 3-0 on the road and 2-1 at home. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 29-37-10 vs. Mississippi including a record of 16-17-5 at home and 13-20-5 on the road.

Leading Scorers: Tyler Beechey leads the Ice Pilots in scoring with 66 points is tied with Alaska's Scott Gomez as the top scorer in the ECHL. Beechey also leads the team with 27 goals which is the second best in the league. Beechey also le! ads the team with 38 assists which is the fifth best in the league. Beechey was recalled to St. John's of the AHL after the game on Sunday vs. Columbia. Corey Neilson is the leading scoring defenseman in the league with 46 points. Nielson also is tied for first in the league among defenseman with 12 goals and leads all defenseman with 34 assists. Todd Ford has the fourth best goals against average in the league at 2.15 and fourth best save percentage at .934. Frederic Cloutier is first in the league among goalies with 23 wins and is second in the league with 1,082 saves. Cloutier is among league leaders in the league with a 2.50 goals against average.

Tentative Practice Schedule this week; The Ice Pilots will have Monday and Tuesday off. The Ice Pilots will practice at the Civic Center on Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. The Ice Pilots will have a pre skate on Friday at 10 a.m. and will play home to Texas on Friday at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will have a pre skate on Sat! urday morning at 10 a.m. and will play home to Mississippi at 7:05 p.m . Ice Pilots hosting Fishing Trip with 72' Sportsfisherman "Destiny" The Ice Pilots are heading out on a Deep Sea Fishing Trip set for Monday, March 14th sponsored by the 72' Sportfisherman "Destiny." The boat will be leaving at 9 a.m. sharp for a great 6 hour cruise to fish the finest spots in the Gulf.

Ice Pilots in the Community: The Ice Pilots will hold a team Bowling Party at the new Liberty Lanes this Tuesday night from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with the ! entire team for season ticket holders only. The Ice Pilots will be signing autographs at Whataburger on Highway 90 in Pace located in front of the Walmart on Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Todd Ford, Chris St. Jacques and Nick Lindberg will be signing autographs this Thursday at Sports Avenue from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. located inside Cordova Mall.

Ice Pilots Announce Ticket Packages for Kelly Cup Playoffs and 2005-06 Regular Season: The 14 home game Kelly Cup Playoff ticket invoices will be mailed out in mid to late February. Current Season Ticket holders who purchase the playoff package will have the option to apply any unused balance of the playoff tickets to next year's season tickets or have their balance refunded if any of the 14 home playoff games are not played. Playoff payments are due in full by March 31, 2005.

The renewal process for the 2005-2006 season tickets has begun. There is a dollar increase per ticket for all ticket types in all price levels for 2005-06. Ear! ly Bird Special: Season ticket holders can put down a $50 deposit per ticket thru March 31, 2005 witht eh full balance for 2005-06 season tickets due in full by September 1, 2005. There is a monthly payment plan option of 12 payments, beginning May 1, 2005 and ending April 1, 2006.

Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Tyler Beechey has been nominated for the ECHL Player of the Week. Beechey scored a hat trick vs. Columbia on Sunday. Goalie Todd Ford has been nominated for the ECHL Goalie of the Week. Ford won both games this past week. Tyler Beechey has been named the Dodge Player of the Week.

Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots leading scorer award this season. During the season, we will be updating you with the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed Ice Pilots top scorer. At the end of the season, Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will present a trophy to the Ice Pilots top scorer. Kerr's Kids: For the second season in a row the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite organizations devoted to helping children who are terminally ill or have special limitations to be our guest during the 2004-05 regular season for a great night of hockey. Each organization is encouraged to pick 3-4 dates throughout the regular season. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission for 12 people (We would like to have at least 6 or more children, escorts are required for the children and are counted as part of the 12). SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. If accessible seating is needed the Ice Pilots must be notified at least 2 days in advance and seating will be arranged.
