LAKEWOOD, N.J. - 3B Jaylen Palmer collected a season-best three hits, including an RBI triple in the fourth inning. However, Brooklyn could not maintain a late one-run lead, as the Jersey Shore BlueClaws bested the Cyclones in walk-off fashion, 3-2, on Wednesday afternoon at ShoreTown Ballpark.

Tied at two heading to the bottom of the ninth, 2B Hao Yu Lee coaxed a one-out walk after a 10-pitch battle and quickly scampered to third on a double from RF Leandro Pineda.

After a strikeout registered the second out of the inning, LHP Daniel Juárez entered in relief. The very first pitch he threw to DH Rixon Wingrove was dribbled back to the mound, but the toss to first kicked in the dirt and rolled behind the first baseman. Lee came home to score the winning tally, giving the BlueClaws (8-8) a 3-2 victory.

Originally down 1-0 on a CF Jared Carr home run in the third, Brooklyn (5-11) retaliated to take the lead.

In the top of the fourth, RF Stanley Consuegra manufactured a one-out walk and easily scored from first when Palmer uncorked a laser into the right-center field gap. The 22-year-old motored into third with a triple, tying the game at one.

The Cyclones jumped ahead for the first time in the eighth. LF Omar De Los Santos started the frame with a free pass and swiped second to move into scoring position.

With one out and the runner in motion, CF Alex Ramírez unfurled a line shot. De Los Santos darted home on the single up the middle to give Brooklyn a 2-1 edge.

Jersey Shore promptly evened the tide in the bottom of the inning. Three-straight singles from Pineda, 3B Kendall Simmons, and Wingrove loaded the bases and a knock to right from SS Casey Martin knotted the score at two.

Brooklyn managed to load the bases in the top of the ninth on singles from 2B Justin Guerrera and De Los Santos, plus a walk to DH Joe Suozzi, but a strikeout and fielder's choice ended the threat.

Neither starter received a decision. RHP Cameron Foster struck out six over a career-high 5.2 innings for Brooklyn. LHP Jordan Fowler worked into the sixth and yielded one run, while walking three.

LHP Jordi Martínez (1-0) escaped trouble in the ninth and earned his first win of the year for the BlueClaws. Cyclones' RHP Robert Colina (0-1) was saddled with the defeat in his team debut.

Brooklyn will try and return to the win column in game three of the series on Thursday. RHP Raimon Gómez (0-0, 6.43 ERA) is slated to make his fourth start of the year. Jersey Shore has yet to announce a probable starter. The first pitch from ShoreTown Ballpark is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
