Charlotte Knights News Release

(SYRACUSE, NY) - Chicago White Sox LHP Dan Jennings, who was placed on Chicago's 15-day disabled list with inflammation on the left side of his neck on June 7 (retroactive to June 5), will begin a Major League Rehab assignment with the Charlotte Knights tonight as the team opens a four-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs from Syracuse, New York.

Jennings, 28, is 1-2 with a 7.83 ERA in 22 games out of Chicago's bullpen this season (23.0 IP, 21 SO). The Berkeley, CA native did not allow a run over a nine-game stretch from April 10 through May 3. He posted a 0-0 record with a 2.70 ERA in nine games during the month of April.

Originally selected in the ninth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft by the Marlins, Jennings was obtained by the White Sox from Miami on December 11, 2014 in exchange for former Knights RHP Andre Rienzo. Jennings compiled a 0-2 mark with a 1.34 ERA in 47 games for the Marlins last season.

The Knights return home to BB&T Ballpark on Thursday, July 2 for a three-game, two-day series against the Gwinnett Braves (Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves). The club will play a day-night doubleheader on Friday, July 3 with game one starting at 12:05 p.m. and game two at 7:05 p.m. Single-game tickets for all games this season are available by phone at 704-274-8282, in person at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office, or online at charlotteknights.com.
