Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Come on out to Coca-Cola Park on Wednesday, July 1 and pig out with $1 hot dogs and $1 popcorn as the IronPigs take on their North Division rival, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees' Triple-A affiliate) at 7:05 p.m. Fans can take advantage of this great food offer beginning when gates open at 5:45 p.m. and lasting through the entirety of the game (or while supplies last)!
Also on July 1, the IronPigs will give a nod to the pop culture phenomenon of "Hump Day" by wearing camel jerseys (presented by Geico Lehigh Valley, of course). The commemorative "Hump Day" camel jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting both IronPigs Charities and the Lehigh Valley Zoo. As a member-supported non-profit organization, Lehigh Valley Zoological Society is ten years young, but as a treasured community landmark, their history spans over a century. The Zoo has been voted the Best Family Day Trip in The Morning Call's Readers' Choice Awards every year since 2009.
Fans can join in on the "Hump Day" fun as an actual camel is expected to be on-site and available for photographs throughout the game in the AT&T Plaza. Geico's 2013 "Hump Day" ad was an overnight viral sensation, becoming one of the most viewed videos of all-time, repeatedly being shared on Wednesday's to signify that workers are "over the hump" of their work week. It is believed that the IronPigs will become the first team in Minor League Baseball history to don a camel-inspired jersey.
Promotional Highlights on Wednesday, July 1st at Coca-Cola Park:
$1 hot dogs
$1 popcorn
