Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League is pleased to announce that they have selected Jarrod Maidens with their First Round selection (4th overall) in the 2010 OHL Priority Draft.
Maidens, a 6'01, 170lb forward played his Minor Midget Season with the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs amassing 63 goals and 41 assists for 104 points in only 57 games played.
Maidens is described by OHL Central Scouting as a "skilled forward that has all the physical tools to be a dominant player at the next level." Owen Sound Attack General Manager Dale DeGray describes the Ridgeway, ON. native as a pure goal scorer. "When you think pro caliber shot and skating, you think Jarrod Maidens. This kid has all of the tools to be a premier offensive talent in this league and fans in Owen Sound should be very excited about watching this player."
Jarrod describes himself as an offensive catalyst who patterns his game after Alexander Ovechkind and was on hand at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre this morning to meet fans, answer questions and become familiar with the friendly surroundings of Owen Sound. "I have been told this is a great hockey community" stated Maidens. "I am very excited to be a part of the team and organization."
