Soo Greyhounds News Release

With their first round selection, 14th overall in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club selected GIANLUCA CURCURUTO from the Mississauga Reps Minor Midgets.

Curcuruto, a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario stands 6.00 tall and weighs in at 180 lbs.

In 64 games played during the 2009/2010 season, the left defenseman had 38 goals and 44 assists good for 86 points.

From the OHL Priority Selection Preview and Media Guide

"Curcuruto is an offensively minded, puck moving defender that possesses a wealth of physical tools. He possesses size, a very good stick and he is a tremendous skater. He displays great mobility and quickness allowing him to cover a lot of territory in all three zones. When he is really on the game you notice him all over the ice controlling and really influencing the play. For an offensive minded defenseman, he does show pretty strong defensive play in his own zone. He play hard along the walls and in the corners while also protecting the front of his net.

The Greyhounds next selection is the 14th pick of the 2nd Round (35th overall)
