Bakersfield Jam News Release

BAKERSFIELD - Bakersfield Jam (28-21) suffered a cold night of shooting, which resulted in an Idaho Stampede (20-29) victory by a final score of 96-80.

Bakersfield had a rough start to begin the game, shooting a measly 21.1% from the field compared to Idaho shooting 57.1% in the first period. Bakersfield continued to struggle in the second period as they found themselves trailing 45-28 at halftime. The Jam put a better third quarter all around, outscoring the Stampede 30-27, but did little damage to cut their deficit as Idaho held a 72-58 lead after three quarters. Idaho continued to shoot well from the field as they led by as many as 24 points in the final period, making it tough for the Jam to make a comeback.

Bakersfield was led by their reserves, as Trey Johnson scored 17 points and dished out five assists. Derrick Byars added 12 points and Juan Pattillo contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.

Paul Carter led the Stampede with 18 points. Seth Tarver finished with 13 points, and Willie Jenkins added 12 points. Derrick Character ended with a double-double consisting of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Bakersfield will play their last regular-season game tomorrow against the Idaho Stampede at 6 p.m. PT. at the CenturyLink Arena.
