
Jacob Butler homers, doubles and drives in three runs for Fisher Cats in 9-5 loss at Erie

Erie, PA- Jacob Butler homered, doubled and drove in three runs, but Erie rallied for a 9-5 win before 5,152 on Saturday night Jerry Uht Park.
Butler hit his home run, a tremendous shot to left field off Erie starter and winning pitcher Ben Fritz in the top of the second inning to give the Fisher Cats a 1-0 lead.
New Hampshire (24-43) would add four more runs in the top of the third inning. Kyle Phillips (2-for-4) singled to start the inning, Scott Campbell walked and Aaron Mathews grounded into a fielders choice. On the play, Campbell was out at second base, but the relay throw was wide, enabling Phillips to score to make it 2-0. Travis Snider (3-for-4) singled to extend his hit streak to nine games. Ryan Patterson followed with a single scoring Mathews before Butler doubled in Snider and Patterson for a 5-0 lead.
Erie (29-39) started the comeback against Fisher Cats starter Brett Cecil in the last of the third inning, scoring three runs. Ryan Roberson (2-for-5, 3 RBI, 3 R) drove in the first run with a fielders choice groundout. Kody Kirkland (3-for-5) singled home the second run and Casper Wells was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 5-3.
Cecil left after three innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs. He walked three and struck out five.
The SeaWolves completed the comeback in the last of the fourth inning against Seth Overbey (2-1). Danny Worth doubled and scored on a double by Roberson. Dusty Ryan (3-for-5, 3 RBI) then hit a two-run home run, his ninth, to put Erie ahead for good at 6-5.
Erie added a run in the last seventh inning on a Joe Tucker home run off Jamie Vermilyea to make it 7-5.
The SeaWolves added two in the last of the ninth inning off reliever Zach Dials on a Roberson RBI double and a Ryan RBI single.
The six-game road trip concludes on Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm in Erie. Radio coverage begins at 12:45pm on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman. RHP Brandon Magee (0-8, 5.53) starts for New Hampshire against SeaWolves LHP Danny Christensen (3-4, 3.78).
