(Erie, PA) - 2007 was one of the most memorable seasons in SeaWolves history. The club won their first Southern Division title since 2001 and the success of the team has shown up in the Major's in 2008.
Today, Eddie Bonine becomes the 12th member (11 players and manager Matt Walbeck) of the 2007 'Wolves to make a big league roster at some point this season. Bonine is schedule to take the mound at 3:55 p.m. at Comerica Park against the Los Angeles Dodgers, making his Major League debut.
Bonine has been one of the most consistent starters in the Tigers organization over the past two seasons, compiling a 24-7 (14-5 in 2007) record between Erie and Triple-A Toledo. He was Erie's first 14-game winner since Rick Kirsten in 2001.
A total of 19 players from the '07 club have spent time in the Majors at one point in their careers. To date, 122 players have worn a SeaWolves uniform (1995-2008) and have played in the Major League's.
