
Jacks Comeback On Opening Night For Shootout Win, 3-2

(Odessa, TX) - Collin Circelli's goal with :32 seconds left in the third period tied it, and his shootout winner propelled the Jackalopes to a 3-2 win over Corpus Christi on Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum.
The IceRays opened the scoring when Adam Powell poked home a rebound. Justin Quenneville and Kyle Peto had the assists to give the Rays a 1-0 lead entering the break.
Jereme Tendler made it a 2-0 score at 4:01 of the second period for Corpus Christi on an assist from Stephen Later. Paul Kelly finally put Odessa on the board with a power play goal at 8:47. Dominic Leveille and Mike Ramsay had the assists. After two periods it was 2-1 in favor of Corpus Christi.
In the third period the Jackalopes pulled their goalie after being awarded a power play to give them a two-man advantage. Collin Circelli banged home a rebound from Jeff Pierce's one-timer to knot the game up at 2-2 and force overtime.
Neither time scored in overtime bringing the game to a shootout. In round six, Collin Circelli scored the go-ahead goal and Joel Martin made the winning save to preserve the 3-2 shootout win for the Jackalopes.
The Jackalopes travel to Amarillo for a Saturday night contest against the Gorillas. Game time is 7:05 PM and the action can be heard on 102.1 Jack FM.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team will begin its 13th season on October 16th against the Corpus Christ IceRays.
