The Elmira Jackals try to win their third-straight game of the weekend as they face off against the Trenton Devils at First Arena at 4:05 p.m. The Jackals defeated the Reading Royals last night in come from behind fashion, 5-4, in front of the second-largest crowd ever at First Arena of 4,231 fans.
TIFU NETS WINNER, TAKES +/- LEAD
Yannick Tifu picked the right time to score his first game-winning goal of the season last night, giving Elmira a 5-4 advantage with 1:54 to go in the third. The Brossard, Quebec native was +2 on the game and is +13 on the season, overtaking Oren Eizenman for the team lead. Tifu's career high in plus-minus is +11.
BACK IN EIGHTH
With the victory, Elmira leapfrogged Toledo into a tie for eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with Gwinnett. The Jackals have played two fewer games than the Gladiators. Gwinnett is in Reading today while Toledo hosts Kalamazoo.
