Danick Paquette's 11th from John-Scott Dickson tied the game at two at 5:18, and just 42 seconds later Will Colbert blasted a rebound past Matt Dalton from the mid-slot to give Gwinnett their first lead. Justin Milo and Aliu assisted on Colbert's sixth.

After a Jared Ross powerplay marker at 16:59, it took the Gladiators just 19 seconds to answer. Kyle Kucharski put home a rebound in front for his second goal of the season and second in as many days to push the Glads lead to 5-3 after 40 minutes.

Matt Duffy extended the lead to three goals at 6:37 of the third, beating Dalton with a slapshot from the point. Paquette and Dickson picked up the assists. Reading scored at 14:10 to cut the deficit to two on a Rob Kwiet tally, but that was as close as the Royals would get.

The Gladiators hit the road again on Tuesday night for a 7:05 p.m. mtahcup with division Rival South Carolina.
