ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, fell to the Idaho Steelheads in a shootout, 4-3, before 7,446 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena Saturday night. The Reign started the scoring early, as Alex Bourret netted his fifth goal of the season just 1:25 into the contest. Bourret picked a defender's pocket and threw the puck over Adrien Lemay's shoulder for the 1-0 lead. The Steelheads evened things up with a goal by Geoff Irwin at 19:45.

Jordan Hill's first goal of the season put Ontario back in the lead at 5:25 of the second period. Hill stopped an Idaho clearing attempt and flung a wrist shot that found its way through a crowd and into the net to give the Reign a 2-1 advantage. Chaz Johnson extended the Ontario lead, 3-1, with a power-play goal at 13:44, as he dropped to one knee to one-time a pass from Bourret past Lemay. Kael Mouillierat cut the Reign lead to 3-2 with a power-play goal at 15:50.

Like periods one and two, the Steelheads struck late in the third, as Evan Barlow tied the game at three with 2:09 left in regulation to send the game into overtime. After a scoreless extra frame, Idaho won it 4-3 in a shootout.

Lemay's 28 saves earned him the win, while Mike Zacharias took the loss with 33 saves.
