IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals take on the Ontario Reign for the first time ever at 10:00 p.m. (ET) at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The Reign are the third Western Conference team the Jackals have seen this season. Elmira is 2-3-0-0 against the west in 2010-2011.
PRODUCTIVE POWER PLAY
Elmira went 1/3 on the power play in all three games against Las Vegas to go 3/9 on the series. The Jackals now have power-play strikes in each of the last four games.
FIRST GOAL IMPORTANCE
Elmira has scored the first goal in 27 of 45 games this season and is 15-7-5-0 when notching a game's first tally. During this current stretch of eight losses in the last nine games, however, the Jackals have scored first just twice. Elmira is 5-13-0-0 when getting scored on first this season.
