Condors Get Revenge, Beat Steelheads 4-3

BOISE, Idaho - D Jay Cascalenda tallied his first goal of the season as the Bakersfield Condors (24-21-2-1, 51pts) took down the Idaho Steelheads (24-76-3-7, 56pts) at Qwest Arena Friday night.

LW Brad Snetsinger lifted the Condors to a 2-0 lead early in the game. His first was scored just 58 seconds into the game on a scramble in front of the net, and he followed it up by snapping a shot into the lower left corner of the net at 6:36. Idaho tied the game up at the end of the period on the strength of 5-on-3 goals by C Marty Flichel and RW Junior Lessardand the period ended with a 2-2 score.

The Steelheads gained their first lead of the game at 16:04 in the second period. D Tyler Ludwig tapped home a pass from LW Evan Barlow putting the Steelheads up 3-2. C Joel Broda evened the score a 3-3 with a one-timer off the right post to tie the game with 1:27 left in the middle frame.

As time ticked down in the third period, Cascalenda sped into the attacking zone and beat G Tyler Beskorowany on a wrap-around. Cascalenda's goal came with just 1:15 left in the game, and lifted the Condors to the 4-3 victory.

The Condors wrap up their three-game series in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads tomorrow. They return home on Tuesday, Feb. 15th to host the Victoria Salmon Kings at Rabobank Arena for High School/College ID Night.
