Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Ryan Cruthers has been returned to the Royals from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. In another transaction, defenseman Jared Ross has been returned to Reading from the Peoria Rivermen. In a separate transaction, the Boston Bruins recalled Yannick Riendeau from Reading and assigned him to the Providence Bruins. The Royals also (i) loaned Devin Timberlake to the P-Bruins; and (ii) activated defenseman-forward Dallas Jackson from the 3-Day Injured Reserve.
Cruthers, a third year pro from Farmingdale, New York, played thirteen games with the Moose, registering four points (3g-1a) and eleven penalty minutes. In twenty-nine games with the Royals, he has thirty one points (15g-16a) and twenty-six penalty minutes. Ross, a second year pro from Stoney Island, Nova Scotia, was loaned to Peoria on Wednesday and played without registering any points or penalty minutes in the 4-3 shootout win for the Rivermen over the Milwaukee Admirals that night. Ross has nineteen points (5g-14a) and twenty-nine penalty minutes in thirty-eight games with Reading. Riendeau, a second year pro from Boucherville, Quebec, was assigned to Reading from Providence on November 14, 2010. He has twenty-six points (10g-16a) in thirty-one games for Reading. Riendeau has played five games this season with the P-Bruins and has picked up two penalty minutes. This is Timberlake's first call up to the AHL this season. A first year pro from Port Alberni, British Columbia, Timberlake has thirteen points (7g-6a) and nineteen penalty minutes in thirty games with Reading. Last year, after completing his senior season at Brown University, Timberlake scored two goals in six games with the P-Bruins. Jackson, a first year pro from Edson, Alberta, was placed on 3-Day Injured Reserve on February 6. He has seven points (2g-5a) and two penalty minutes in twenty-four games with Reading.
