IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals play the sixth contest of their season-high seven-game road trip on Saturday night at Wings Stadium, taking on the Kalamazoo Wings for the fourth and final time in 2011-2012 at 7:30 p.m. Elmira dropped a 5-3 decision to the Chicago Express in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs on Friday night in Hoffman Estates, Ill. Kalamazoo scored six-unanswered goals to rout the Cincinnati Cyclones on Friday, 7-3.
RIVET EXTENDS POINT STREAK
Craig Rivet has points in four-straight games, his longest point streak of 2011-2012. The North Bay, Ontario native assisted on Jack Downing's goal last night, is tied for first among ECHL defensemen with nine power-play assists, and is tied for second among all skaters in the league in that category.
SATURDAY-NIGHT SUCCESS
The Jackals have had an abundance of success on Saturdays in 2011-2012 with a 7-2-0-0 record. Elmira lost back-to-back Saturday contests on Oct. 22 in Wheeling and Oct. 22 at home against South Carolina. Since then, the Jackals have reeled off six-consecutive Saturday wins. Elmira is just 3-7-0-0 in Friday contests this season.
