The Elmira Jackals announced on Tuesday that they have acquired the rights to defenseman Drew Paris from the Gwinnett Gladiators in exchange for the rights to defenseman Brennan Turner. Paris has been assigned to the Jackals by the AHL's Toronto Marlies while Turner has been recalled by Elmira's AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native was a 2010 ECHL All-Star selection and was named to the 2009-2010 All-ECHL Rookie Team. This season, Paris has two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 33 games with Gwinnett.

Prior to turning pro, Paris collected 194 points (64g-132a) in a five-year career in the QMJHL. His 22 goals in 2007-2008 were tied for first among QMJHL defensemen while his 55 points were fourth among the league's blue-liners.
