WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 11, 2010 - In conjunction with the Oakland A's, the Sacramento River Cats have announced today that Jack Cust has been added to the Triple-A team's roster and will suit up for today's game against the Portland Beavers, at 2:05 p.m. at PGE park.

On April 10, the Oakland A's announced that Cust had accepted an outright assignment to Sacramento. He was designated for assignment on April 3 and was outrighted on April 7 when he cleared waivers. Cust had 72 hours to accept the assignment or become a free agent.

Cust hit .216 with one home run and three RBI in 19 games this spring. He led the A's in home runs (25), walks (93) and strikeouts (185) for the third consecutive season in 2009 and also topped the club in games (149), runs (88) and on-base percentage (.356). The 32-year old left-handed hitter has a .241 batting average, 84 home runs, 229 RBI, 309 walks and 546 strikeouts in 421 games over the previous three seasons with the A's. Cust last played in the minors in 2007 at Triple-A Portland in the San Diego Padres organization before he was traded to the A's May 3, 2007. He has 200 home runs in 11 seasons and 1,114 games in the minors. ***
