Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev.- A night after Reno pounded out 17 hits against the Grizzlies, it could muster just five hits off four Fresno pitchers en route to a 6-2 loss in front of 8,023 fans Saturday night at Aces Ballpark.

Fresno starter Eric Hacker (1-0) took a no-hitter into the sixth before Reno's Ed Rogers legged out an infield single to lead off the frame. Mark Hallberg followed with a line-drive single, but the Aces couldn't score until a two-out, run-scoring double by Carlos Corporan in the seventh. Cole Gillespie hit a ninth-inning solo home run, but it wasn't enough as the Aces were tagged with their first loss of the 2010 season.

Bryan Augenstien (0-1) took the loss for Reno, allowing five earned runs and striking out three in 5.2 innings of work. Josh Ellis and T.J. Beam combined for 3.1 innings of one-run ball to keep the game close.

Hacker struck out four and allowed just two singles in 5.1 innings pitched. Three Grizzlies relievers tossed the final 3.2 frames, allowing just three hits and both Reno runs.

Corporan and Gillespie had the only two extra-base hits for the Aces, while Jeff Bailey contributed a pinch-hit single and scored a run in the seventh.

The two teams wrap-up the season-opening four-game set with a Sunday matinee, with Aces RHP Billy Buckner (0-0, No ERA) set to face Fresno RHP Joe Martinez (0-0, No ERA). First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting www.RenoAces.com
