Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Albuquerque (52-41) exploded offensively for a 10-1 victory supporting starter Matt Palmer (32-61) who stifled Nashville's offense. Every starter in the Isotopes lineup, including Palmer, collected a hit and six Isotopes had a multi-hit game.

Shortstop Justin Sellers went 4-for-5 from the dish for his fifth four-hit game of the year, leading the team. He doubled twice, launched a home run in the third and drove in six. He now has 19 doubles on the season to lead the 2013 Isotopes and matched Chili Buss for the most RBI in a game. He also scored two runs.

Matt Palmer (5-3, 3.86) retired the first nine out of ten batters he faced. The righty put together his top performance of the season matching his personal and team season-high nine strikeouts earning the win. His only blemish came from a fourth inning solo homer by Caleb Gindl. He matched his season high in innings pitch in a game with seven and exited the contest with his ERA at a season-best 3.86. It was his fourth quality start in his last five games.

Righty Sean White entered the game in the eighth and picked up where Palmer left off. He tossed a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out two. Javy Guerra finished the game firing a scoreless ninth. Albuquerque jumped on Nashville's starter Chris Narveson in the first, plating four runs. Sellers smoked his 18th double of the season with the three runners on clearing the bases. Brian Barden added an RBI single.

Left fielder Chili Buss and the Albuquerque shortstop went deep back-to-back in the third padding the lead to 6-0. Buss' long ball was his 12th of the year matching Alex Castellanos for the team lead. Matt Angle had one of two Isotopes doubles in the club's three-run fourth and Rusty Ryal (3-for-4, 3 R, RBI, BB) smacked an RBI-single extending their lead to 9-1. Narveson (2-5, 6.70) took the loss for Nashville allowing nine runs on 12 hits over 4.2 innings.

The Isotopes and Sounds complete their three-game series and Albuquerque's final homestand before the All-Star break tomorrow, July 10, at 7:05 PM MDT. Southpaw Zach Kroenke will get the nod for Nashville. The Isotopes have not announced a starter. All the action can be heard on 610 "The Sports Animal" with Josh Suchon on the call.
