Tacoma Rainiers News Release
TUCSON, Ariz. - The Tacoma Rainiers fell behind early and never caught up in an 11-5 loss to the Tucson Padres a Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Padres pounded out an insurmountable six unanswered runs over the game's first two innings. Outfielder Brandon Allen gave Tucson a 4-0 lead after belting a grand slam with two outs in the first. Jaff Decker hit an RBI single and Dean Anna lined a two-run double in the bottom of the second.
Run-scoring singles hit by Brandon Bantz and Leury Bonilla and a two-RBI double delivered by Abraham Almonte cut the Rainiers deficit down to 6-4 in the top of the fourth, but Tucson bounced back with three more runs in the bottom of the inning.
Tacoma's lineup combined to collect seven hits in the contest. Carlos Peguero led the way after going 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored. He has hit safely in each of his six apperances during the Rainiers current road trip and is batting .346 (9x26) since July 4.

Starter Andrew Carraway (6-3) was dealt the loss in his first outing since a stint on the disabled list. The right-hander surrendered a season-high nine runs on 11 hits over 3.2 innings while walking one and fanning three over 3.2 innings.
At 54-39, the Rainiers continue to own the best record in the Pacific Coast League and hold a four-game lead over Colorado Springs and Salt Lake in the Pacific Northern Division.
