LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open a brief four-game, three-day series against the Tucson Padres, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, on Thursday, July 11 at Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. The series will feature a double-header on Friday, July 12 at 5:05 p.m., consisting of two seven-inning contests and the series will conclude on Saturday, July 13 at 7:05 p.m.
The 51s, under manager Wally Backman, are concluding a seven-game road trip in Salt Lake City, Utah, against the Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, on Wednesday evening. Las Vegas, 46-43, is in third place in the Pacific Southern Division, 2.5 games behind the Tucson Padres. Three teams in the division are separated by 2.5 games (Tucson, 50-42; Sacramento, 48-43, Las Vegas 46-43).
2013 ATTENDANCE: In 43 dates, Las Vegas' total is 214,722 for an average of 4,994. Las Vegas' season-high crowds, which include four sellouts, are 11,776 against Round Rock on May 10 and 11,522 for the 10th Annual School Day Game against Albuquerque on May 14 at Cashman Field. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in "home" attendance in all 30 seasons (1983-2012) and the all-time attendance total now stands at 10,201,236. The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.
Budweiser Dollar Beer Night will be featured in the opener of the homestand on Thursday evening. Every Thursday home game throughout the 2013 campaign will feature "Dollar Beers." Proper identification and wristbands are required for dollar beer night.
A spectacular post-game "Fireworks Show" will be featured in Friday's double-header against the Padres on Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada Night. Sam's Club Family 4-Pack Night will be featured two more times during the 2013 season (Friday, July 12 & Friday, August 9). The 4-Pack consists of: 4 tickets to the game; 4 hot dogs & 4 sodas; 4 Las Vegas 51s Hats. The ticket packages are priced at $48 (Reserved); $56 (Plaza) and $64 (Field). The finale of the homestand on Saturday will feature 51s Folding Chair Night, sponsored by ZERO Fatalities, Drive Safe Nevada, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates (open at 6 p.m.). The 51s will also help celebrate the 60th anniversary of 8 News NOW TV.
The 8 News NOW anchors will be involved in fun activities throughout the game and will also greet the fans at Cashman Field. 8 News NOW and the 51s will be collecting cases of bottled water that evening to help the homeless during the hot summer months. The Las Vegas Rescue Mission will be the recipient of the water donations to distribute to the homeless population they serve daily. The first 500 fans who bring a case of bottled water to Cashman field on Saturday to donate, will receive one large pizza from Papa Johns and a $25 RC Wiley gift card. The family fun will also include a commemorative t-shirt toss into the stands.
The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on Sports 920 The Game, which will carry live all 144 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.com. Russ Langer, the eight-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 14th season behind the microphone calling 51s

Following the homestand, the Triple-A All-Star Break will be held from Sunday-Wednesday, July 14-17. The 26th annual Triple-A All-Star Game featuring the International League All-Stars vs. the Pacific Coast League All-Stars will be held on Wednesday, July 17 from Aces Ballpark in Reno, Nev., at 6:05 p.m. (PST) live on MLB Network and available to MiLB.TV subscribers on MiLB.com and locally on Sports 920 The Game.
The American Forces Network will also showcase the event, bringing MLB Network's telecast of the Triple-A All-Star Game to the U.S. Armed Forces stationed outside the contiguous United States on U.S. Military installations and aboard U.S. Navy Ships at sea.
Las Vegas will embark on a brief four-game road trip to Northern Nevada on Thursday, July 18 to face intrastate rival and defending PCL & Triple-A champions, the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The road trip will also begin a home-and-home eight-game series between the two teams (at Reno, July 18-21 & at Cashman Field, July 22-25).
In 2009, Las Vegas and Reno developed the Silver State Diamond Challenge and the "Silver Plate Trophy" to add to the excitement to the rivalry for the two PCL teams that represent the state of Nevada. In 2013, Las Vegas leads the 16-game series, six-games-to-two.

Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the America First Credit Union Box Office at Cashman Field. The box office is open Monday-Friday (non game days) from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com). Ticketmaster outlets are located at selected Smith's Food & Drug.
The individual game tickets for the 72-game home season are priced at $10.00 (reserved, $11.00-Day of Game); $13.00 (plaza, $14.00-Day of Game) and $14.00 (field, $15.00-Day of Game). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza and reserved seats throughout the season except for the "Fireworks Extravaganza" that was held on Wednesday, July 3.
