Islanders Return Poulin to Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (March 30, 2012) - The New York Islanders announced today that goaltender Kevin Poulin has been returned on loan to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Poulin, 21, rejoins the Sound Tigers after a one-game emergency recall last night where he served as Al Montoya's backup during the Islanders 5-3 win over the Penguins. The Montreal, PQ native has appeared in six games with the Islanders this season, posting a 2-4-0 record with a 3.04 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

The second-year net-minder returns to the Sound Tigers where he's played in 41 games this season, totaling a 19-17-4 record with a 2.93 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

The Sound Tigers continue their eight-game homestand with a three-game weekend starting tonight against the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The Sound Tigers play host to the Portland Pirates tomorrow at 7:00 p.m., then welcome the Manchester Monarchs to town on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Sunday is Autism Awareness Day sponsored by C.E.S., where the Sound Tigers will wear commemorative warm-up jerseys that will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to C.E.S.
