Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat will look for a season series split and two-more points in a tight race for the AHL playoffs as they host the Chicago Wolves (Vancouver Canucks) tonight at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre for their second meeting in as many nights.

The Heat currently sit in 4th spot in the Western Conference, just three points behind the third place and Midwest Division leading Wolves, but also are just three points from being outside of the playoff picture altogether, with six teams sitting three points or less behind the Heat. With a win tonight, the Heat would strengthen their hold on the final home ice playoff spot, and give the club and the Wolves a matching record of four wins, three losses and an overtime setback in their eight games season series; both teams have three wins on the road thus far.

Eddie Lack and Leland Irving started in Thursday's high scoring affair, while Heat Head Coach Troy G. Ward promised line-up changes with more bodies returning to health and arriving on assignment from Calgary. Quintin Laing returned from a lower-body injury that cost the Heat captain seven games, while Jon Rheault participated in morning skate and warm-up, but was scratched in a game time decision.

This evening's 'Loonie Toonie Dog 'n Brew' game begins at 7:00 and can be heard be heard on Country 107.1 beginning with the 6:30 pre-game show. The game can be also heard on Country 107.1's website, theAHL.com, and on the Rogers Radio App for your wireless device.
