Connelly's Overtime Heroics Lift Heat Past Wolves

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat and Chicago Wolves wrapped up their eight game season series in front of a capacity crowd at the AESC on Friday, with the home team earning a thrilling 4-3 win in overtime. There were 7,044 fans in attendance, marking the fourth sellout in franchise history for the Heat organization.

Greg Nemisz tallied in the opening frame, while Krys Kolanos and Clay Wilson each scored in the middle stanza to tie the game 3-3 after 60 minutes. The game winner came late in the extra period as Brian Connelly got his sixth of the season with just 11.9 seconds remaining to secure the win and an important extra point for the home team.

Leland Irving started in net for the second consecutive night and stopped 28 of 31 shots for his 21st victory of the campaign.

The Heat's next action comes on Tuesday, April 3rd when the Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) make their first and only visit to the AESC this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm and the game can be heard live on theahl.com and Country 107.1.
