Falcons Fall to Sound Tigers 6-2

The Springfield Falcons lost to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 6-2 on Friday night at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT. The Sound Tigers used a strong first period scoring three times in the game's first seven minutes in taking the early momentum and earning the victory. The Falcons are back in action on Saturday night when they host the Providence Bruins at the MassMutual Center starting at 7 pm.

The Sound Tigers used just 14 seconds to build a 1-0 lead when Tony Romano scored his 9th goal of the year. Bridgeport built a 2-0 lead at 5:59 of the first period when Micheal Haley tallied on the power play, followed by Blair Riley scoring just one minute later extending the Sound Tigers advantage to 3-0.

The Falcons cut their deficit to 3-1 at 17:49 of the first period when Matt Calvert tallied 17th marker of the year, but Bridgeport regained their three goal lead just 32 seconds later as David Ullstrom recorded his first marker of the night.

The Sound Tigers extended their lead to 5-1 in the second period when Rhett Rakhshani scored his 16th goal of the year on the power play at 10:50.

The two teams exchanged goals in the third period as Ullstrom scored his second marker of the game, followed by Ryan Garlock converting for the Falcons.
