
IronPigs' Winning Streak Snapped at Three by Red Wings

Rochester, New York - After a week full of bombastic offensive performances, the bats for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (59-51, 23-14) were finally quelled in 4-1 loss to the Rochester Red Wings (53-58, 19-19) on Saturday night at Innovative Field.
Travis Blankenhorn started the scoring with a solo shot in the last of the first inning for the Red Wings before Jack Dunn brought home a run with a groundout in the third.
With two on and two out in the sixth, Erick Mejia ripped a two-run triple for Rochester, extending their lead to 4-0.
The IronPigs showed some late fight, scratching out a run in the ninth and even bringing the go-ahead run to the plate. Rafael Marchan drove in Dustin Peterson with a single to make it 4-1. Kody Clemens then walked to load the bases with two outs, bringing Cristian Pache to the plate representing the go ahead run, but Pache grounded out to end the game.
Jackson Rutledge (2-1) garnered the win for the Red Wings after tossing five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two.
Shaun Anderson (1-1) was solid for the IronPigs but absorbed the loss. Anderson went six frames, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out three.
The IronPigs go for the series win in the finale against the Red Wings on Sunday, August 13 with first pitch slated for 1:05 p.m.
