MOOSIC, PA. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders beat the Syracuse Mets 4-2 on an Office Olympics night at PNC Field in a slightly rain shortened win. Franchy Cordero homered in the win and the pitching staff combined to allow just 3 hits.

Cordero picked up right where he left off in the bottom of the third with two outs. He hit a towering solo shot 385 feet for his third long ball in two games.

A single put a runner on for José Peraza who doubled in the tying run. After the top of the fourth, both sides were tied at one run apiece.

The RailRiders re-took the lead in the bottom of the inning. Oswald Peraza singled and scored on an RBI double from Austin Wells. A stolen base for Wells put him on third and he came around to score on a wild pitch to give SWB a 3-1 advantage.

Syracuse would get one back on a walk and a Ronny Mauricio double in the top of the fifth.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jake Lamb was hit by a pitch and Brandon Lockridge advanced him to second on a single. A double from Michael Hermosillo brought in Lamb, extending the RailRiders lead to 4-2.

Anthony Misiewicz got the start for SWB in a bullpen game tossing two scoreless innings with no hits and a strikeout. Josh Maciejewski (W, 2-0) allowed a run in an inning and a third of work. Zach McAllister, Ron Marinaccio and Greg Weissert (S, 9) combined to retire 12 straight to secure the win for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Justin Jarvis (L, 0-3) started for Syracuse pitching 3.1 innings and allowing three runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

A Sunday series finale is on tap for tomorrow as the homestand comes to a close. First pitch on a Geisinger Sunday Family FunDay is scheduled for 1:05 P.M. at PNC Field. For more information on the series or to purchase tickets, visit www.swbrailriders.com.
