IronPigs Game Notes

May 5, 2011 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

After their first Day Off of 2011, the second-place IronPigs (14-12) start an eight-game, West Division road trip with Game One of a four-game series against the first-place Columbus Clippers (21-5) at Huntington Park. With a 3-2 win over Buffalo on Tuesday, Lehigh Valley took three-of-four from the Bisons and finished 5-3 on the eight-game, North Division homestand. In addition, the Pigs are 7-4 over their last 11 contests...

The Clippers -- Cleveland's top affiliate -- have won 13-straight games and own the best record in all of minor league baseball (the only team with 20+ wins). After losing an opener vs. Louisville on 4/19, Columbus took the last two games of that series and has since swept Indianapolis (3 G) at home and Gwinnett (4 G) and Charlotte (4 G) on the road...

RHP Brian Gordon (0-0, 0.00) will start for LHV against RHP Corey Kluber (0-2, 6.50).

First-pitch is set for 6:35 p.m... The Pigs have never won in Huntington Park (0-8) -- and have dropped their last 11 G in COL since 5/1/08.

GO WEST, YOUNG MEN:

After starting the season with 26 straight games against the North Division, Lehigh Valley starts an 8-G West Division road trip tonight that consists of 4 G in Columbus (21-5) and 4 G in Toledo (14-13)...
