IronBirds Win Series Finale

The IronBirds fought off the sweep Sunday evening and defeated the Crosscutters, 4-2. Kirvin Moesquit collected two hits and scored twice to pace the 'Birds.

Jammin'

Kirvin Moesquit blooped a single in the first inning, stole second, and reached third on a wild pitch from Crosscutters catcher Gregori Rivero. The ball trickled into left field on Rivero's throw, allowing Moesquit score first run of the night, giving the IronBirds an early 1-0 lead.

Back to Backer's

With runners at the corners in the third inning, Steve Laurino sliced a ball into right field to score Moesquit for his second full trip around the bases. Austin Pfeiffer followed Laurino with a line shot to shallow center to score Randy Gassaway. The two RBI's would push the lead to three.

One More For Good Measure

Drew Turbin came to the plate in the fourth inning hitting an RBI double to score Mike Odenwaelder all the way from first, extending the lead to 4-0.

Not So Fast

The Crosscutters fought back in the sixth inning when Mark Laird scored teammate Andrew Amaro with an RBI single. The hit would bring the Crosscutters back within three runs.

Not Enough

Williamsport scored once again in the seventh inning with an RBI groundout from Jesus Posso to push Venn Biter across the plate. Posso's RBI made the score 4-2.

Birdwatching

Steve Laurino extended his hit streak to five games with an RBI single... Randy Gassaway continued his hit-streak with a multi-hit game including a single and a double... Austin Pfeiffer and Drew Turbin each recorded RBI's, Turbin's came on a double... Kirvin Moesquit crossed the plate twice ... IronBirds newest addition, catcher Mike Shaw made his first IronBirds start, catching two runners stealing on two attempts.
