Aberdeen IronBirds News Release

The IronBirds fell to the Hudson Valley Renegades for the second consecutive night on Friday, 2-1. The IronBirds could only muster up two hits, both in the first.

First Things First

With Drew Turbin on second base, Austin Pfeiffer laced a single to left field. Third base Coach Shawn McGill waved Turbin home, where he beat the throw from left fielder, Joe McCarthy to take the lead at 1-0.

Outta Here

Hudson Valleys first basemen Nic Wilson, came to the plate in the fourth inning and smacked a pitch over the left field wall to knot things up at 1-1.

Two Is Enough

In the fifth inning, Joe McCarthy hit an RBI single to right field to score Renegade teammate Jake Cronenworth, taking the lead a second time at 2-1. That would be all Hudson Valley would require on Friday night.

Birdwatching

Austin Pfeiffer's RBI single in the first was the IronBirds final hit of the evening... Aberdeen went down one-two-three in every inning except for the first... Hudson Valley only collected five hits, but their two runs were enough to earn the series win.

The Aberdeen IronBirds will head to Troy, New York to take on the Tri-City Valley Cats for a three game series. With the IronBirds on the road, fans can listen to the play-by-play on the IronBirds Radio Network on the TuneIn Radio app.
