Summary

The IronBirds dropped a 5-1 decision to the Williamsport Crosscutters in game two of a three- game set. The Crosscutters outhit the IronBirds, 12-to-five in the contest.

Cutting the Game Open

The Crosscutters took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Zach Coppola singled to score Dylan Bosheers.

Cutting deeper

Back-to-back singles by Austin Bossart and Carlos Duran started the fifth inning for the Crosscutters. Grenny Cumana followed with a single of his own to drive home Bossart. Coppola would strike again with another RBI base hit that scored Duran to extend the lead to three.

Getting their Cuts

Venn Biter collected his second hit of the evening with an RBI single up the middle. Coppola scored from second to push the Crosscutters' lead to 4-0.

Cutting the Lead

After Austin Pfeiffer reached on a throwing error by Crosscutters shortstop Grenny Cumana, Jerry McClanahan knotched an infield single to score the IronBirds first run.

Aiming for Philly

Jesus Posso responded for the Crosscutters in the top of the eighth when he launched an Andrew Elliott pitch off the visitor's clubhouse in left field. Posso's long ball put the lead back to four.

Bird Watching

Reid Love pitched a season-high six innings... Love allowed three runs on eight hits and three strikeouts.... Andrew Elliott tied a season high for innings pitched...Elliott pitched two innings, allowing two runs, on four hits including a homerun.... Jerry McClanahan collected his sixth RBI of the season in the seventh inning.... Steve Laurino extended his hit streak to four games... The Crosscutters had 12 hits, 11 singles and one home run...
