The IronBirds dropped a 3-2 decision to the Brooklyn Cyclones on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Mountcastle homered, but Aberdeen fell in the rubber match.

"Mount"ian Shot!

After Mike Odenwaelder singled to right field, Ryan Mountcastle smashed a home run over the left field wall in his first at-bat with Aberdeen. The two-run shot landed on the visitors' clubhouse and gave the IronBirds the early advantage.

Storms-a-brewing

Zach Mathieu drove a double off the left field wall in the fourth inning to score Jeff Diehl from second base. Mathieu's RBI put the first run on the board for the Cyclones.

Déjà vu

In an identical situation as the fourth, Mathieu singled to the left side of the infield in the sixth to score Diehl from second base. Mathieu's second RBI of the evening tied the game at two.

"Three-peat"

Branden Kaupe led the eighth inning off by drawing the walk before moving to third base on a double by Diehl. Mathieu knocked in Kaupe for his third RBI of the night on a single to center field. Mathieu's three RBI's would give the Cyclones the 3-2 victory.

In his first start, at-bat, and pitch with Aberdeen, 2015 first-round pick, Ryan Mountcastle hit a home run that bounced off the roof of the visiting clubhouse in left field.

"K"nock 'Em Down

Four IronBirds pitchers combined to strike out 16 Cyclone batters. Starter Jean Cosme led the staff with eight strikeouts.

Bird Watching

Jean Cosme allowed one run in five innings of work while recording a career-high eight strikeouts... Alex Murphy had a two-hit game including a double... Ryan Mountcastle hit his first homerun in his first at bat and collected two RBIs.
