Iowa Falls in Series Finale

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs (16-17) dropped the series finale by a 3-2 score to the Omaha Storm Chasers (19-11) today at Principal Park.

In the first, Nick Pratto gave Omaha a 1-0 lead with a solo home run.

The Storm Chasers extended their lead in the second inning as a run came home on a double play and added another in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from John Rave , to make it 3-0 Omaha.

Iowa cut the Omaha lead to 3-1 in the eighth as Jake Slaughter brought home a run with a single.

David Peralta made it a one-run game in the ninth as he led off the frame with a home run.

Dan Straily made the start for the I-Cubs and suffered the loss. The right-hander tossed 5.0 innings and allowed three runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

POSTGAME NOTES:

- The I-Cubs have lost five straight games for the first time since they dropped seven straight from Sept. 1-8, 2023.

- Darius Hill has reached base in 10 straight games, batting .395 (17-for-43).

Iowa will play vs. Columbus on Tuesday for the first of a six-game series with first pitch from Principal Park slated for 6:38 pm CT.
