
Iowa Energy Win Sixth Game in a Row

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (24-23) won 122-104 over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (18-30) Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Energy were led by D.J. Stephens with 29 points and seven rebounds. James Ennis added 21 points and seven rebounds and Patrick Christopher posted 21 points and three rebounds. The Mad Ants were led by Xavier Thames with 20 points and three rebounds.
It was a close high scoring start to the game. The Energy and Mad Ants exchanged the lead seven times in the first quarter. Ennis and Christopher led the Energy with eight points each as the team shot 64 percent in the quarter. Iowa led 36-29 heading into the second quarter. The Energy kept it going in the second outscoring the Mad Ants 33-24 to hold a 69-53 advantage at halftime. Christopher led the Energy with 19 points in the half as the team shot 58 percent.
The Energy picked up right where they left off to start the second half. They opened up a 28-point lead over the Mad Ants behind nine points from Ennis. Iowa led 100-78 heading into the fourth quarter. The Energy cruised in the fourth to a 122-104 victory to extend their winning streak to six games.
The Energy head out to Sioux Falls on Tuesday before returning home Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. for the final two games of the season.
