BayHawks Comeback Falls Short against Charge

Erie, Pennsylvania - The BayHawks overcame a 23-point deficit but couldn't steal the victory from the Canton Charge this evening at Erie Insurance Arena, falling 122-111.

The BayHawks and Charge traded baskets for much of the first quarter with Canton pulling away in the closing moments on a CJ Wilcox three to lead 26-30. Aaron Harrison had nine points for the BayHawks.

Canton went on an 11-2 run midway through the second to propel them to a 47-67 lead at half. The Charge were led by double-digit scoring outputs from John Holland, Wilcox, and Quinn Cook.

After trailing by as many as 23 in the second quarter, Erie closed the third on a 13-4 run to cut the Charge lead to 11. The momentum carried into the fourth when Myck Kabongo hit a fast break layup to tie the game with 7:40 to play. Nick Minnerath answered with a three-pointer to cap an 11-0 Charge run with 4:10 left in the game. The BayHawks couldn't overcome the late Canton run.

The Charge were led by three players over the 20-point threshold. Holland posted 23 points while Wilcox, on assignment from the L.A. Clippers, added 33. Quinn had a team-high 33 points on 10-of-18 shooting.

The BayHawks were led in scoring by their two assignment players. Harrison, on assignment from the Charlotte Hornets, had a game-high 34 points on 10-of-22 shooting. Branden Dawson notched 21 points and eight rebounds. Nnanna Egwu posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The BayHawks conclude the season on the road beginning in Delaware on Tuesday at 6:30.
