
Iowa Energy Fall to the Grand Rapids Drive

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (5-5) fell to the Grand Rapids Drive (6-5) 100-95 Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Drive were led by Brandon Fields with a game-high 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Kelsey Barlow and Adonis Thomas added 14 points each. The Energy were led by Diante Garrett with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Memphis Grizzlies assignees Jarnell Stokes recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Jordan Adams added 15 points and 7 rebounds.
It was a close game through the first half with both teams trading the lead five times. The Drive held a 23-20 advantage after the first quarter. The Energy would come back during the second quarter to take a 47-43 lead at halftime.
Grand Rapids jumped out to a fast start in the second half, outscoring the Energy 33-14 in the third quarter. Iowa would fight back during the fourth quarter with 34 points to close within one point in the final minutes of the game. In the end, Grand Rapids was able to hold on to the lead and win 100-95.
The Energy travel to Erie Saturday night to take on the BayHawks at 6pm. They return home Tuesday to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7pm at Wells Fargo Arena.
