BAKERSFIELD, CALIF., December 18, 2014 - The Bakersfield Jam (9-5) defeated the Reno Bighorns (5-5) 152-142 Thursday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. Eight Jam players scored in double-figures, led by Earl Barron who posted his 10th double-double of the season with a game-high 34 points and 10 rebounds.
After finishing the first quarter trailing 42-34, Bakersfield surged to a 21-2 run to start the second period and a 12-point deficit at one point was completely vanished. The Jam never looked back after that storming second quarter performance and led by as many as 17 points in the second half. The closest the Bighorns got was within four points (130-126) at the 4:30 mark of the fourth, but the Jam were able to hold Reno off and pulled away with the victory.
Elijah Millsap finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Chris Wright recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists to go along with six rebounds. Casey Prather (17), Xavier Munford (13), Renaldo Major (12) and Mac Koshwal (12) also scored in double-figures.
Reno were paced by David Stockton (32 points, 9 assists) and Quincy Miller (32 points, 9 rebounds). Jordan Hamilton chipped in a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while David Wear added 19 points and six rebounds.
The Jam conclude its three-game homestand against the Oklahoma City Blue on Saturday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
