Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 30, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, the Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have announced that tickets for 2011 post-season games are now available. The South Atlantic League has authorized the sale of tickets for all possible playoff games, and the Intimidators are currently in the mix for the final berth out of the Northern Division.
Fans can purchase tickets for playoff games at the Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium box office or by calling (704) 932-3267. The Intimidators are also happy to announce that playoff tickets will be priced at the same rate as regular season seats - $12 for V.I.P. seats, $9 for reserved, and $7 for general admission. Fans can save $1 off each ticket by purchasing in advance of game day.
If the Intimidators win the 2nd Half or earn the Northern Division wild card berth, the team will host Game 1 of the best-of-three Northern Division Series on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7:05 p.m. at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium against 1st Half winner Hickory Crawdads. Game 2, and if necessary Game 3, of the series will be in Hickory on Sept. 9 and 10.
Kannapolis is currently 1.0 game behind Hickory in the 2nd Half standings with six games left on the Intimidators' schedule. The Intimidators can earn a playoff berth by winning the 2nd Half outright. If Hickory wins the 2nd Half, Kannapolis can earn a wild card berth by posting the second-best overall record in 2011. The Intimidators currently hold the second-best overall record by a half- game over the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Intimidators' final opponent of the regular season.
Fans that purchase playoff tickets are entitled to a refund for any 2011 playoff games not played at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium or can apply credit toward 2012 tickets.
Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium is located off I-85 at exit 63. The Intimidators begin their final home stand of the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 1, against the Grasshoppers. For ticket information, please call the Intimidators box office at (704) 932-3267 or visit the team's website at www.IntimidatorsBaseball.com.
