Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

Columbus, GA - After an hour long rain delay to start the game the Intimidators (12-8) continued to flex their muscles against the Catfish. But that chance didn't last long. Heading into the bottom of the third inning with Kannapolis down 3-2 to Columbus at Golden Park the game was stopped due to lightning and rain. After a 47-minute delay the game was postponed.

No makeup date has been set as tonight?s game was the final in the season series between the two and will be made up only if it impacts the second half standings coming down the stretch.

The Intimidators scored both of their runs on home runs in the second inning. Mark Fleisher led off the frame with a jack and Sergio Morales also went deep. However, these stats do not count as the game did not make the official five innings.

Last night, the Intimidators hit three home runs en route to a 6-1 victory over Columbus. Kannapolis received two home runs from Mark Fleisher and another homer from Matt Inouye.

The Intimidators travel to Rome tonight to open a series with the Braves starting tomorrow night at 7:00pm. Coverage starts at intimidatorsbaseball.com at 6:45pm with Dan Bumpus. The Intimidators are in the midst of a seven-game roadtrip and went 1-2 in Columbus before these next four in Rome.

Kannapolis returns home Wednesday, July 16th to face the Charleston RiverDogs to open an eight-game homestand. For tickets call 704-932-FANS or go online to intimidatorsbaseball.com.
