
Injury puts damper on Hartford Wolf Pack

Hartford, November 9, 2005: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that goaltender Al Montoya suffered a broken ring finger on his left (catching) hand in practice yesterday. Montoya is expected to miss 4-6 weeks of action. Also, the Wolf Pack has recalled center Lee Falardeau from Charlotte (ECHL) and signed goaltender Bernd Bruckler to a Professional Tryout agreement (PTO).
Montoya is 5-1-0 in six appearances on the year, with a 2.50 goals-against average and a 92.9% save percentage. Falardeau has skated in six games with the Checkers, registering two goals and two assists for four points along with four penalty minutes. Bruckler played in one AHL game for the Wolf Pack, October 15th vs. Lowell, and suffered a 3-2 loss, despite stopping 26 Lock Monster shots, including a penalty shot attempt. In three ECHL games with Charlotte, the rookie out of the University of Wisconsin was 3-0-0 with a 2.93 GAA and an 87.3% save percentage.
The Wolf Pack return to action tonight at home vs. Head Coach Kevin Dineen and the Portland Pirates. Faceoff is 7:00, and after the game selected Wolf Pack players will be conducting a free autograph session in Center Court of the Civic Center Mall. The Pack then travel to Binghamton (7:05 PM) Friday and Lowell (7:35 PM) Saturday, before returning home for a Sunday (4:00) home game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
