November 9, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that defenseman Jeff Jillson has received his second recall to the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.

Jillson was previously recalled by the Sabres for a game against the Montreal Canadiens on November 5th and was returned to Rochester the following day. Jillson has three assists in six games played this season for the Amerks. He played 78 games with the Amerks last season and led all team blueliners in scoring with 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points. The 25-year-old defenseman is in his fifth season of professional hockey and was acquired by the Sabres in a three-way trade with San Jose and Boston on October 8, 2004.

The Amerks will host the Manitoba Moose and Chicago Wolves in a rare back-to-back Friday/Saturday homestand, before traveling to meet the Cleveland Barons on Sunday. The Amerks (7-4-0-0, 14 points) enter the week in third place in the North Division. Last weekend, the Rochester Americans completed their first three games in three nights stretch with a 1-2-0-0 record. The Amerks began the trek Friday with a 4-2 loss against the Cleveland Barons, but rebounded with a 5-4 shootout win at Binghamton on Saturday. On Sunday, Rochester lost 2-1 to the Toronto Marlies.

The Amerks begin the weekend with a 7:35 p.m. showdown against the Manitoba Moose at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The contest is a rematch of the 2005 North Division Final -- won by the Moose in five games. The contest will be televised tape delayed on Time Warner Cable Channel 98 on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The game will also be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and webcast on the B2 Networks.
