Atlanta recalls Berkhoel, Wolves sign Tarkki

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled goaltender ADAM BERKHOEL (BUHRK-uhl) from the Chicago Wolves for his third National Hockey League stint this season. In addition, the Wolves have signed netminder TUOMAS TARKKI (TOH-mas TAR-KEY).

BERKHOEL registered 32 saves on 35 shots to record his first NHL win on Oct. 22 against the New Jersey Devils. The 24-year-old netminder made his NHL debut on Oct. 15, recording 24 saves on 29 shots in a 5-1 loss to the New York Rangers. Overall, he posted a 1-2-0 mark with a 3.96 goals-against average and a .874 save percentage in two stints with the Thrashers this season.

The St. Paul, Minn., native has recorded a 1-2-0 mark with a 3.02 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage in three games with the Wolves this year.

TARKKI has appeared in two games with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators this season, posting a 0-1-1 record with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage.

The 25-year-old Finn played two preseason games with the Wolves, notching a 0-1-0 mark with a 3.14 goals-against average and a .833 save percentage.
