INDIANAPOLIS -- First baseman Mike Edwards capped off a five-run rally with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth as Indianapolis posted a 5-4 victory over Pawtucket Tuesday night at Victory Field.
The Indians end a three-game skid and improve to 33-24 overall, while the Red Sox fall to 26-31. Indianapolis increases its lead to six games in the International League's West Division, while Pawtucket slips to 9.5 games behind Rochester in the IL North.
Indianapolis recorded the game-winning score in the eighth after tying the affair with a four spot in the seventh. C Carlos Maldonado drilled a base knock to right field, moved to second on a groundout and came plateward on a seeing-eye single from Edwards.
