June 6, 2006 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release

OTTAWA- It has been a year of firsts for the Ottawa Lynx with regards to their radio broadcasts. After an announcement prior to the season that Shawn McCart would be the Lynx first full-time radio broadcaster, the Lynx are pleased to announce that for the first time in the franchise's 14-year history, Ottawa will broadcast all Home and Road games for the remainder of the 2006 season.

McCart will broadcast the remaining three home games of the Lynx series against Columbus in Ottawa, and then will hit the road for the first of his 45 road broadcasts with his first call from a visiting park coming this Friday night from Toledo at 7:00 pm. Fans can tune into each and every Lynx broadcast via their website, which can be found at www.ottawalynx.com.

"It's an exciting opportunity for the Lynx and for our fans," said Lynx General Manager Kyle Bostwick "The prospect of giving our fans the chance to hear our home broadcaster call games when the Lynx are on the road is certainly something we're looking forward to."

The Lynx would like to acknowledge the support of their radio sponsors who have helped to make this happen: DNT Transportation, Spitz Sunflower Seeds, Really Lebanese - Home of the Garlic King, Esso On The Run (select area locations), Bobby's Bar & Restaurant and Lorenzo's Pizzeria

The Lynx continue their eight-game homestand tonight when they play the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees) in the second game of a four game series. Tomorrow night, former Montreal Expos star pitcher 'El Presidente' Dennis Martinez will visit Lynx Stadium to sign autographs for fans at 5:30 pm.
