TONIGHT'S GAME: The second of a four game series and the sixth of 16 meetings with the Knights, the second of eight at Knights Stadium. The Braves are 2-3 vs. the Knights, 1-0 on the road. Game two of an eight game road trip. The Braves were 8-8 vs. the Knights last season, 4-4 in Charlotte. This is the 19th of 48 games vs. South Division opponents, Richmond is 7-11 vs. the South. The ninth of 24 road games vs. South Division opponents (Richmond is 4-4). Braves are 103-117 vs. Charlotte all-time. The Braves are third in the South, 15.5 and a half games behind first place Charlotte. The Knights lead the division by 11 games over Durahm.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME: The Braves beat the Knights 2-1 at Knights' Stadium Monday. The Braves Scott Thorman hit his fourth home run in four games and the Braves bullpen stretched a shutout streak to 11 innings as Richmond opened an eight game road trip with a win. The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Thorman. He hit his club-leading 13th home run in the fifth to give the Braves 2-0 advantage. Chris Stewart's sacrifice fly in the home half cut the Braves lead in half but Richmond relievers Wayne Franklin and Manny Acosta blanked the first-place Knights the rest of the way. Lance Cormier was the winning pitcher. Acosta notched a save. Sean Tracey took the loss. Thorman had two hits and has seven RBI in the last two games. Josh Fields and Ryan Sweeney had two hits each for Charlotte.

CRUNCHING NUMBERS: Cesar Crespo's nine game hitting streak ended yesterday. Bill McCarthy has hits in seven straight games (11-25 .440). Scott Thorman has hits in seven straight games (11-28 .393). He has home runs in three straight games. Michael Ryan's five game hitting streak ended last night Martin Prado has hits in five straight games (9-21 .429). Carlos Mendez three game hitting streak last night. Tony Pena's five game hitting streak ended last night. James Jurries has hits in five straight games (6-21 .286). Jonathan Schuerholz has four hits in his last eight at bats. RHP Phil Stockman has worked his last 16 innings in nine appearances without allowing a run and permitting just three hits. The Braves bullpen has worked 13 straight scoreless innings. The Braves are 2-3 vs. Charlotte but have yet to score more than two runs in a game vs. the Knights. The Braves have eight runs in five games vs. Charlotte.

ON THE LEADER BOARD: Scott Thorman is eighth in the league in hitting (.305). He is second in home runs (12) and tied for sixth in RBI (35). He is tied for the league lead in hits (64) and is tied for third in extra base hits (25). Kevin Barry is tied for fourth in strikeouts. The Braves are second in the IL in stolen base percentage behind Charlotte. They have swiped 46 and have been caught 14 times (77.9%). Their 14 caught stealings is the fewest in the IL.

GOLDEN GLOVES: The Braves have played six straight scoreless games. They are on a pace to break the club record for fewest errors in a season (97 in 2004). Richmond is tied for second in the IL in fielding percentage. Brayan Pena (now with Atlanta) leads IL catchers in fielding percentage (1.000 in 31 games).
