LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. - Two defensive miscues proved costly for the Indianapolis Indians on Saturday night as the Gwinnett Stripers scored three unearned runs to emerge victorious, 5-2. It was the fourth straight defeat for the Tribe who are now just 1-7 against Gwinnett this season.

The Stripers (45-35) put pressure on Indy starter Mitch Keller early, but he induced a groundball double play in the bottom of the first to limit the rally. A run did score when Adam Duvall bounced into the pair of outs, but Gwinnett had to settle for just the single score.

Keller pitched out of trouble in the second inning and had quiet frames in the third and fourth. The Indianapolis (41-38) offense awoke in the top of the fifth. Will Craig clubbed a double for the Tribe's first hit of the game. He then scored when Trayvon Robinson doubled to right-center field. Robinson would cross the plate later in the frame on a wild pitch, and it gave Indy a 2-1 advantage.

One of two costly errors put Gwinnett back in front in the bottom of the fifth. With Jack Lopez and Ryan LaMarre at second and third base, Duvall hit a ball to third baseman Kevin Kramer, who was unable to tag Lopez off the bag. Off-balance, his throw went high at first and allowed two runs to score.

Montana DuRapau worked around a single in the sixth, but an error helped lead to a run in the seventh. LaMarre grounded a ball to second, but Erik Gonzalez was unable to field it. One out and one walk later, Jonathan Morales singled through the left side to plate LaMarre and it expanded Gwinnett's lead to 4-2.

Luis Marte doubled home Pedro Florimon for the game's final score in the bottom of the eighth. It was the Stripers' only extra-base hit of the contest

Gwinnett starter Mike Foltynewicz (2-1) retired the first 12 batters and pitched into the eighth inning to earn the win. Keller (6-2) took the loss for Indy. Two of the three runs he conceded were unearned.

The Indians will try and avoid the sweep in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Eduardo Vera (4-5, 5.66) is the probable starter for Indy. The Tribe returns to Victory Field on July 4 to open a four-game homestand.
