Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
ALLENTOWN, PA - Shane Robinson did not homer in 50 games and 188 at-bats for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in 2018. Saturday night, he delivered a pair of homers and drove home five runs against his former team as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs notched a 12-3 victory over SWB before a sellout crowd of 10,100 at Coca-Cola Park.
The barrage began for Lehigh Valley just two batters into the game when Robinson delivered a two-run homer clubbed to left field. By the time he stepped to the plate in the 6th inning and drilled his second two-run homer of the night, the IronPigs had extended their lead to 7-1, and his second blast made it 9-1.
RailRiders pitching recorded their final six outs via strikeouts, including J.P. Feyereisen who notched a scoreless inning in his first time out since being named an International League All-Star Wednesday.
The RailRiders scored a run in the top of the 5th inning to plate their first run of the game, with Mike Ford's RBI double doing the honors. He later belted a solo homer to begin the 8th inning and finished the game 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a home run and two RBI. Tyler Wade (2-for-5) and Clint Frazier (2-for-5) also logged multi-hit games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as they fell Saturday night despite a 12-hit attack.
The RailRiders and IronPigs go head-to-head in the final game of their three-game set Sunday with a 1:35 p.m. scheduled first pitch. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre sends RHP Brody Koerner (3-1, 4.60) to the mound, going up against RHP Ramon Rosso (0-1, 4.60) who is making just his fourth start in Triple-A.
